Worship

Worship at St. Andrews

Gathering in our common belief in Jesus Christ as the fullest expression of God’s love, lifting hearts and voices in praise and prayer.

We worship according to the customs of the Episcopal Church, following the seasons of the Church Year from Advent through the Pentecost season. The Holy Eucharist, or the Lord’s Supper, is at the heart of our worship life. We also use other Prayer Book liturgies providing a breadth of expression. In a typical year, instead of the Prayer  Book we dedicate four or five Sundays to Celtic Liturgy. In turn, we on another four or five Sundays we offer  the Laying-on-of-Hands, or Healing Liturgy.

Folks of all ages are involved as ushers, acolytes, lectors, chalice administrators, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and members of the Altar Guild. We welcome children and encourage their participation in services throughout the year.

We're a spirited congregation, very friendly and not too formal, with a good sense of humor and a mix of people across the age spectrum. See Christian Education for information about Sunday School.
