Father Grant looks forward to the future of St. Andrew’s York as a beacon of the Good News of Jesus Christ in our part of the world – and beyond! Grant would love to hear from you: so drop by, call, or send an email and let him hear from you.
The Reverend Kathy Hettinga joined our St. Andrew’s York family as Associate to the Rector on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Kathy brings a wide range of experiences and gifts that will enhance our witness to the Gospel of Christ both within our parish community and in the larger community of York County and our Diocese. Mother Kathy’s position is parttime and non-stipendiary.
Since 2023, Kathy has been working as a Chaplain for Hospice Community Care throughout eastern York County from north of York City to the Maryland line. Kathy brings her calming presence, excellent active listening abilities, and strong faith to individuals and families in very challenging times. Kathy will bring these gifts to our parish family as well as contribute to our common life together by assisting with the administration of the Sacraments and preaching, formation and pastoral care.
Kathy will be with us as much as her full-time chaplain schedule will permit. We are also fortunate that Nathan, Kathy’s husband will also be joining her here at St. Andrew’s York and we look forward to Nathan being with as again as well.
Kathy interned at St. Andrew’s in 2021 to 2022 prior to her ordination to the diaconate on June 8, 2024. Since her ordination, in addition to working with Hospice Community Care, Kathy served at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Harrisburg.
